Background: SESUK traditionally has supported the Safran UK aeronautical businesses with a small amount of third party work obtained from Airbus or the automotive industry. With the downturn in the aeronautical market the business would like to expand into the UK space sector. SES is supporting space activities from other SES countries and there is also a Safran in Space initiative focused on the growing the space portfolio across the Safran companies.
Grow a space division in the current SESUK business.
Understand the current space portfolio in SES and Safran in Space.
Act as a focal point on behalf of SESUK and identify opportunities to grow the UK space market using complimentary technologies.
Use existing network and knowledge to define current UK space activities and potential opportunities.
Build/amend current strategic roadmaps (short, medium and long term) to deliver a sustainable space business.
Project manage the technical solutions in the short term until the growth demands a greater team.
Recruit develop and build a strong multi skilled space team to support the activities as required.
Act as a technical lead on space projects in the UK and manage the engineering/technical activities in SESUK to ensure the compliance of the engineering services to all customers and Safran stakeholders.
Be part of the SESUK leadership team driving the growth of the SESUK business.
Create or build on an existing network with the UKSA, Space + Satellite catapults and other key organisations in the space innovation and growth partners.
Where applicable submit funding applications to the UKSA, ESA or other relevant bodies.
Dedicate time to stay in contact with the Safran in Space Network.

o Growth targets (SESUK and Offshore)
o Financial targets
o Employee satisfaction
o Annual PDR
o One to One Meetings
