Safran Engineering Services: 10 years in Morocco
"Today Morocco is a partner country for Safran, and a major new area of growth. It is also at the heart of the commercial and industrial strategy of Safran Engineering Services", said Grégory Mayeur, CEO Safran Engineering Services, during the event.
Ten years ago, the center of engineering excellence in Casablanca was inaugurated by His Majesty the King Mohamed VI. The entity was then dedicated to research into mechanical engineering mainly on behalf of companies of the Safran group. Fifty people started the story. Today there are 150 of them, thus demonstrating the expansion of the site, the commitment of co-workers and the numerous commercial successes.
"The client portfolio extended to beyond the borders of our group with several new partner clients", Gregory Mayeur confided. "Our Moroccan site became one of the pillars of the Safran Engineering Services offering. It enables us to offer competitive solutions, in a work package, whilst maintaining an excellent quality of service. Seamlessly coordinating with our French and European teams, our Moroccan co-workers are the key to our development and our positioning of market leader".
During this event, Lahcen Daoudi, Minister for Higher Education, Scientific Research and Management Training, Abdelaziz El Omary, new Mayor of Casablanca, Hamid Benbrahim, representative of Safran in Morocco and Hicham Medromi, General Manager of the National School of Electricity and Mechanics, participated in the anniversary ceremony and planted an olive tree. It was the opportunity for Mohamed Aboutayeb, Site Director, to thank the government and the universities which are partners of the company: "Morocco is a country with which we have been able to build an exemplary and innovative partnership. It is a country which provides us with unfailing support and is a new area of growth on a very competitive market. Your efforts to develop training for engineers and technicians in high quality aeronautical activities are very precious and help support our development in an efficient and sustainable way" he said.
At the end of the day, Jacques Serre, Technical Director of Snecma, presented the prize for the best supplier of the year to the winning teams. Proof of the capacity of Safran Engineering Services Morocco to reach the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
